Spring/Summer 2013 Scentsy Fragrance Review

Beginning March 1, 2013, Scentsy will release the Spring/Summer 2013 Fragrances. Some of these are returning fragrance from seasons past and some are BRAND NEW.  It’s very exciting and I thought I’d give you all my personal preview of the fragrance line up for Spring/Summer 2013 Fragrances.  I’ve also made note if the fragrance is a returning scent from seasons past or a brand NEW fragrance.  Under the name and description, you’ll find my personal option on the fragrance.

Please remember that this is ONLY MY PERSONAL option and does not mean that you will agree!

Scentsy has added the Simply Scentsy category. Each Simply Scentsy fragrance is the very essence of an ingredient—the spicy rush of cinnamon, the lush bloom of rose, the juicy heart of strawberry. Enjoy these scents on their own or combine them with one of your favorites for a personalized fragrance experience!

A Wink & A Smile—The flirty, girly, fresh scent of tulips and daffodils in full bloom, rounded out with plumy lemonade.

  • NEW fragrance! This one is okay.  It’ll be interesting to experience this one while it’s warming to see if my take on it changes.

Beach—Papaya and honeydew sweetened with a hint of coconut.

  • This is a returning fragrance from Spring/Summer 2010 and MY ALL TIME FAVORITE.  I was so sad to see this one go for the Fall/Winter 2011 and nervous that it may not return, I really stocked up!! Beach is very strong and a little goes along ways.  YAY!!! I’M SO EXCITED for this once to be in the catalog again!! HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!!

Cherry Limeade—Zesty key line, sweet cherry, and juicy berry; A delicious scent reminiscent of a soda fountain drink.

  • This is another returning fragrance from Spring/Summer 2011.  Cherry Limeade is the bar that came in my starter kit when I joined Scentsy 3 years ago.  The day I got my starter kit, we left for a long weekend of canoeing and sight sightseeing. I grabbed the warmer from my starter kit and this bar and we hit the road.  While staying in the cabin and various hotels on this family adventure, Cherry Limeade was very welcoming! When I’m warming this one, I’m immediately transported back to this family vacation and LOVE IT!! Also, to this day, I don’t leave home without a Scentsy warmer when traveling.  They make a great nightlight for kids and really make a hotel stay much more relaxing!

Happy Go Lucky—Luscious red berries, silky orchid, and Japanese plum floating on a cloud of amber vanilla.

  • Scent of the Month for January 2013! Way to perfumie for me…not on my like list but would make a good bathroom scent.

Honey Do!—Lush, ripe honeydew melon and cantaloupe with a hint of garden mint.

  • This one is very melonly smelling, but too light for me when warming.  It’s a returning fragrance from last spring/summer.

Honeymoon Hideaway—Escape to a secluded retreat of dew-kissed lily and tart-sweet kiwi, shaded by lush coconut palm.

  • NEW fragrance! I LOVE THIS ONE!! I can’t wait to get a bar and warm it in my bedroom! I’m hoping it replaced Mediterranean  Spa, as it’s my current bedroom scent that’s discontinued…What’s a girl to do!?!?!

Jumpin’ Jelly Bean—Crisp pear and apple, zesty lemon, and sugar evoke sweet childhood memories.

  • EASTER!!! This one so reminds of Easter’s growing up and wouldn’t you know it, my boys (10 and 12 years) LOVE IT!!  It’s a very light fragrance and the scent throw does not seem to last long enough for me. Jumpin’ Jelly Bean is a returning fragrance and I can’t wait to warm it in my Easter Egg Warmer!

Jet, Set, GO!—Jet off to a balmy tropical paradise of Brazilian orange, jungle papaya, and island vanilla.

  • NEW fragrance and NOTHING! I can’t smell this one…Not sure what’s up with that but no matter how hard I try, I smell nothing.  I’ll be curious to get a bar of this and see if I can smell it then or once it’s warming.  My sniffer is not turned on by this one but I really want to Jet off!

Lilacs & Violets—Perfect combination of lilacs and violets—the smell of spring!

  • I so badly want to like this one…to take me back to my Grandmother’s house in the spring when her entire fence line was in bloom with lilacs that could be smelled for blocks away…but it doesn’t.  Maybe warmed with Simply Rose, it’ll give me the memory I desperately want! This one the most requested fragrances returning from Spring/Summer 2011.

Kiwi Lime & Cantaloupe—A refreshing sip of a summer cooler, with icy lime, juicy kiwi, and bright cantaloupe.

  • NEW fragrance! This combination is not appealing to my sniffer at all and ranks on my YUCK List, but will it for you?

Locicera—Taste the sweet nectar from a honeysuckle trumpet as warm amber and patchouli hover above a spring garden.

  • This a returning fragrance from last year’s spring/summer and I didn’t like then and I still don’t.

Lush Gardina—The creamy, full scent of classic gardenia, with a whisper of tuberose.

  • Returning Scent….YUCK! This one that I can’t anything about it that I like.

Perk Me Up!—Simply the most perfect cup of coffee you’ll ever experience. A strong brew of Guatemalan coffee beans and just a touch of hazelnut.

  • NEW fragrance! Coffee lovers beware, this one smells so good I could drink it! I should note that I HATE coffee, so that’s a big statement for me to make!

Pink Cutie—A kaleidoscope of fresh citrus—sweet clementines, pucker pomelo, and sunny mandarin—kissed by a touch of musk.

  • NEW Fragrance! Another one that is definitely not on my Like or Love It list. It’s a very light fragrance that leaves me wanting more.

Posy Peach—Fuzzy ripe peach balance by green, tender tendrils of violet leaf in a fragrance that hints at lazy sunny days.

  • Scent of the Month for February 2013 that will be in the catalog for the Spring/Summer Catalog! Reminds me of picking fresh peaches and getting them ready for Peach Cobbler with my grandma…YUM!

Red Candy Apple—Macintosh apples, raspberry jam, berries, and strawberry milk, with brown sugar and cotton candy.

  • Returning Scent and too sweet for me! The cotton candy does not mix well with the fruit on my smeller pallet.  I’ll be sticking with Apple Press for apple fix!

Serene Green—Deep green lime leaves, crisp verbena, and tart citrus zest in a bright, happy fragrance.

  • NEW fragrance! I really like this one.  Very clean and fresh but also very ligt.  I’ll be curious to see how long it lasts when warming as the lighter scents tend to not last as long for my nose.

Simply Cinnamon— Very essence of Cinnamon.

  • NEW fragrance! I’m not a cinnamon fan as it’s too overwhelming for me, but I like this one!

Simply Lime— Very essence of Lime.

  • NEW fragrance! SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!! I love lime and when I smell this one…it makes my mouth water in anticipation! Will be a great kitchen scent this summer!

Simply Rose— Very essence of rose

  • NEW fragrance! My Flower Shop replacement has been found!! I cannot wait to order some of this come 3/1!!

Simply Strawberry—A juicy ripe strawberry plucked straight plucked straight from the patch, with hints of green vine and tart seeds.

  • Returning fragrance but NEW to the Simply Scentsy category!  I’m super excited about this one as it’s popular with my customers.  I’m not a fan, too sweet for me but it does reminds me of the baby dolls I would get as little girl.

Simply Vanilla—Very essence of vanilla.
  • NEW fragrance! For those of you that were disappointed to see Vanilla Cream discontinued in February 2013, I think you’ll find this one as a suitable replacement.

Sugar--Melt-in-your-mouth peppermint candies with subtle hints of creamy butter.
  • Happy to have this returning!! It’s a great mixer and not one I’m a huge fan it alone as I feel it’s a weak fragrance, but it mixes very nicely with other’s to tone them down or change the fragrance up a little bit, especially if you’re not a vanilla fan.

Tiare Maohi—Pure white, wild gardenia – a sumptuously luxurious floral with a sheen of coconut.
  • NEW fragrance and I’ve got no clue how to properly pronounce. I do like this one, so I’m anxious to warm it.

Tingelo—A mélange of sweet fruit and tangy citrus; Tangelo, lemon, and apricot, enhanced by fragrant lychee berry.
  • Returning fragrance and reminds me of a cool crisp spring morning.  I think I like this one best in my Kitchen.

Two Harbors—Escape to distance shores with tart Meyer lemon and refreshing lime, warmed by sweet vanilla and golden amber rays.
  • Returning fragrance and I may have found my new kitchen fragrance! Cucumber Lime is my current favorite for my kitchen, but Tingelo is an AMAZING change up!! It’s more of a spicy lime fragrance and I’m happy this one is back!

Violet Leaf—Captures the very essence of green – dewy, fresh, organic and just a little floral.
  • Scentsy SCENTREND 2013 is Violet Leaf.  Adding a cube or two of the single note Violet Leaf to your favorite Scentsy fragrance will customize your scent experience. Scentsy has suggested the following fragrances that are perfect for mixing with Violet Leaf: Posy Peach, Rio Beach, Lotus Cove, Route 66, Honeymoon Hideaway, Quiver, Serene Green, My Home, and Simply Lime.

Yuzu Dragon—A burst of fruit that simply sparkles: Fresh guava and honeyed nectarine spiked with exotic dragronfruit and yuzu.
  • Returning fragrance! Reminds me of the baby soap I used on my boys when they were babies. It’s very fruity, yet not overpowering.
