My Review of the Spring/Summer 2012 Fragrances

Beginning March 1, 2012, Scentsy will release the Spring/Summer 2012 Fragrances. Some of these are returning fragrance from seasons past and some are BRAND NEW.  It’s very exciting and I thought I’d give you all my personal preview of the fragrance line up for Spring/Summer 2012 Fragrances.  I’ve also made note if the fragrance is a returning scent from seasons past or a brand NEW fragrance.  Under the name and description, you’ll find my personal option on the fragrance.

Please remember that this is ONLY MY PERSONAL option and does not mean that you will agree!

Awakening—Invigorate your senses with an unexpected harmony of white peach and vanilla, pineapple and amber.
·        NEW fragrance! This one is okay, but it verges on the side of being soapy for me. It’ll be interesting to experience this one while it’s warming to see if my take on it changes.

Beach—Papaya and honeydew sweetened with a hint of coconut.
·        This is a returning fragrance from Spring/Summer 2010 and MY ALL TIME FAVORITE.  I was so sad to see this one go for the Fall/Winter 2010 and nervous that it may not return, I really stocked up!! Beach is very strong and a little goes along ways.  YAY!!! I’M SO EXCITED for this once to be in the catalog again!!

Cherry Limeade—Zesty key line, sweet cherry, and juicy berry; A delicious scent reminiscent of a soda fountain drink.
·        This is another returning fragrance from Spring/Summer 2010.  Cherry Limeade is the bar that came in my starter kit when I joined Scentsy.  The day I got my starter kit, we left for a long weekend of canoeing and sight sightseeing. I grabbed the warmer from my starter kit and this bar and we hit the road.  While staying in the cabin and various hotels on this family adventure, Cherry Limeade was very welcoming! When I’m warming this one, I’m immediately transported back to this family vacation and LOVE IT!! Also, to this day, I don’t leave home without a Scentsy warmer when traveling.  They make a great nightlight for kids and really make a hotel stay much more relaxing!

Enliven—Wild orchid and renewing currant, blended with sweet, soft fruits and a drop of coconut mild.
·        NEW fragrance! I can’t smell this one…Not sure what’s up with that but no matter how hard I try, I smell nothing.  I’ll be curious to get a bar of this and see if I can smell it then or once it’s warming.  Strange!

Honey Do!—Lush, ripe honeydew melon and cantaloupe with a hint of garden mint.
·        This one is very melonly smelling, but too light for me when warming.  It’s a returning fragrance from last spring/summer.

Jumpin’ Jelly Bean—Crisp pear and apple, zesty lemon, and sugar evoke sweet childhood memories.
·        EASTER!!! This one so reminds of Easter’s growing up and wouldn’t you know it, my boys (9 and 11 years) LOVE IT!!  It’s a very light fragrance and the scent throw does not seem to last long enough for me. Jumpin’ Jelly Bean is a past Scent of the Month that is finally making its debut in the catalog and making two very happy boys with its return!

Lemon Coconut Chiffon—Creamy, tropical coconut and sunny, bright lemongrass.
·        NEW fragrance and NOT FOR ME! Nothing about this one is appealing to me.  Even my mom (who’s favorite Scentsy fragrance is Coconut Lemongrass) was turned off by this one when she experienced it.  It’s a very much slap you in face scent and at the very bottom of my not for me list.

Lilacs & Violets—Perfect combination of lilacs and violets—the smell of spring!
·        I so badly want to like this one…to take me back to my Grandmother’s house in the spring when her entire fence line was in bloom with lilacs that could be smelled for blocks away…but it doesn’t.  Maybe warmed, it’ll give that memory or maybe it’s the violets that have me completely turned off to this fragrance. However, I haven’t tried warming, as I’m so turned off by it in the package and it is one my most popular fragrance returning from Spring/Summer 2010.

Linger—Pink grapefruit, sugared apple, lavish parlien and flirty marshmallow swirl create a fragrance that says “stay”.
·        Scent of the Month for January 2012 and I’m glad this one is sticking around.  It’s a lighter perfume fragrance that’s not too sweet.  Not one of my favorites, but I do like it.

Locicera—Taste the sweet nectar from a honeysuckle trumpet as warm amber and patchouli hover above a spring garden.
·        At first smell, this was a definite no for me, but the more I smell it, the more it’s growing on me and I’m excited to warm this one to how I like it!

Lush Gardina—The creamy, full scent of classic gardenia, with a whisper of tuberose.
·        YUCK! This one that I can’t anything about it that I like.

Midnight Fig—Earthy, ripened figs and golden berries tempered by musky woods will open your eyes and captivate your scenes.
·        Scent of the Month for November 2011.  I’m not sure what to think of this one.  On one hand I like, but on the other it reminds me of wet hay from old barn on the farm growing up.  It’s definitely one of those that people either really like or don’t like it all.

Mums & Marigolds—The sunny scent of summer marigolds, rosy rhubarb, earthy cedar, and musk.
·        Another one that is definitely not on my Like or Love It list. It’s a very light fragrance that leaves me wanting more.

Pink Pepper—Fruity, floral, and feisty Pink Pepper is a comforting yet contemporary scent—and the latest trend in home fragrance.  Just add a cube or two of the single-note Pink Pepper to your favorite Scentsy fragrance to customize your experience.
·        This is a hard one for me to review, as it’s not intended to be a standalone fragrance but rather to enhance fragrances. There are certain fragrances, identified by Scentsy to be perfect for mixing with Pink Pepper.  Pixie, Mums & Marigolds, Hendrix, Love Story, RU N2 ME, Amber Road, Imperial City, and Paradise Punch are among these mixers.  Most of these I’m not a fan of; However, Pixie, Love Story, RU N2 ME and Paradise Punch are on my like it list, but I’ve personally not yet experimented with mixing it.

Pixie—A mischievious moonscape of pink pepper, mandarin, and heliotrope, deepened by exotic teakwood and vanilla oak.
·        Scent of the Month for February 2012 that has made the lineup! I’m excited to see this one sticking around.  It’s a lighter, powdery perfume fragrance that can be enhanced with Pink Pepper.
Red Candy Apple—Macintosh apples, raspberry jam, berries, and strawberry milk, with brown sugar and cotton candy.
·        Ummm…NO! Too sweet, the cotton candy does not mix well with the fruit on my smeller pallet.  I’m way more partial to Scentsy’s retired fragrance Red Delicious for a true apple fragrance.

RU N2 ME—The spirit of millennial captured in warm pink pepper, deep woods, and bright cassis in a scent for everyone.
·        NEW fragrance! I really like this one.  Very clean and fresh.  This is also one that I would consider general natural, so I like that this one is available as a solid perfume.

Simply Strawberry—A juicy ripe strawberry plucked straight plucked straight from the patch, with hints of green vine and tart seeds.
·        NEW fragrance! I’m super excited about this one…I get a lot of requests for a strawberry fragrance and this one is SUPER NICE!! It reminds me of the baby dolls I would get as little girl. I’m anxious to warm this one to see how the scent throw is, as it seems very light in the tester.

Sugar--Melt-in-your-mouth peppermint candies with subtle hints of creamy butter.
·        SO EXCITED to have this returning!! It’s a great mixer and not one I’m a huge fan it alone as I feel it’s a weak fragrance, but it mixes very nicely with other’s to tone them down or change the fragrance up a little bit, especially if you’re not a vanilla fan.

Surfer Chick—Bubbly lemon tonic and guava frolic with sweet cherries and blackberries in this youthful scent.
·        Youthful nailed this scent for me…Although; I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Tingelo—A mélange of sweet fruit and tangy citrus; Tangelo, lemon, and apricot, enhanced by fragrant lychee berry.
·        NEW fragrance! This one is okay for me.  I’ll be anxious to warm this one and see how I like once it’s warming in my home.

Two Harbors—Escape to distance shores with tart Meyer lemon and refreshing lime, warmed by sweet vanilla and golden amber rays.
·        NEW fragrance and I may have found my new kitchen fragrance! Cucumber Lime is my current favorite for my kitchen, but Tingelo is AMAZING too!! It’s more of a spicy lime fragrance and I can’t wait 3/1 when I can order a bar and get it warming!

Yuzu Dragon—A burst of fruit that simply sparkles: Fresh guava and honeyed nectarine spiked with exotic dragronfruit and yuzu.
·        NEW fragrance! VERY NICE…Reminds me of the baby soap I used on my boys when they were babies. It’s very fruity, yet not overpowering. I received a bar of this one for at Spring Sprint and it’s made the favorite list in my household!

Zeppelin--For those who dare to take to the sky: Elegantly balanced citrus and sage soar over sandlewood.
·        NEW fragrance! I like this one but not better than My Dear Watson.  I’m anxious to warm this one and experience in my home rather than just in the tester, as it has potential for me. It’s a very clean and fresh fragrance.
