Here’s an update to my previous BBMB reviews.
Please remember that this is ONLY MY PERSONAL option and does not mean that you will agree!
Amaretto--An almond-scented fragrance sweetened with honey and spice.
· My review of this fragrance will have to wait till January 1st, as I have not yet experienced this one.
· WOW!! It’s strong…too strong for me! It’s smells just like an Amaretto Sour. Might be a good one to mix other scents and it’s definitely not on my Gotta Have It list! Be sure to read my review of Cherry Almond Pie to gain more insight on this fragrance.
Berries & Bubbly--Sweet strawberry aroma with champagne.
· Previous BBMB from July 2011 and it was definitely a big hit then so we’ll see how it fairs in round two! It’s okay for me, the berries scent is not strong enough and the bubbly comes off as soapy.
Bubblegum--The true scent of baseball-card bubblegum—sugar and cotton candy with a hint of mint.
· My boys (ages 9 & 11) are SO EXCITED for this one and it really takes me back summers on the baseball field. Not a personal favorite of mine but will have to invest in a few bars for the sake of my children. They gobbled this one up during the last round of BBMB’s, so it’s sure to be a hit this time too.
Buttermints--Melt-in-your-mouth peppermint candies with subtle hints of creamy butter.
· I LOVE BUTTERMINTS!! I sure hope this fragrance lives up to my expectations, and has me craving them, which may be a bad thing! Hurry up January 1st, so I can try this one too!
· Disappointed in this one, the peppermint does not mix well with the butter. The peppermint is too offensive at first whiff. I do pick up on the butter with a deeper inhale, but again will not be added it to my Gotta Have It list.
Cherry Almond Pie--Orville’s favorite dessert. Graham crackers, sweet almond, cream, and cherries.
· I’m guessing this one will not be on my gotta have list. It has potential for a kitchen fragrance, but the depending on the ‘sweet almond’ it may go off the deep end on sweetness. Out of all the one’s I’ve not yet experienced, this the one I’m the least anxious to try.
· There isn’t anything I like about this one…YUCK!! However, my 11 year old really likes it and says it reminds of him maraschino cherries, which would explain why I don’t like it. We did a test with this one going back and forth with a jar of maraschino cherries and the bar of Cherry Almond Pie, and they do smell very similar and even began to smell like Amaretto. Now, I have hard time differentiating the three fragrances and I don’t like ANY of them…
Cinnamon Cider--Tart apples balanced with oak and spicy cinnamon.
· I’m not a cinnamon fan, so this one does nothing for me and the fragrance is too light in my option.
Coffee Tree--Bold and sophisticated. Wake up to the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans.
· I don’t drink coffee of any sorts, but do enjoy the aroma of a brewing pot of coffee. I get a lot of requests for a coffee scents, so we’ll see how this one goes over. I have not had the opportunity to test the fragrance in any fashion, so my final option of this one will have to wait till January 1…
· Bold nailed this one! It’s very strong and smells just like a fresh pot of coffee brewing. I’m not sure I’d want my house to smell like this as I’m not a coffee drinker, but it might make a good kitchen scent. I’m anxious to see how my ‘coffee lovers’ respond to this fragrance.
Cranberry Spice—Orville’s Pick!--A generous blend of cloves and ginger help define the sophistication of tart cranberry.
· Christmas at Grandma’s….Oh the memories this one evokes for me! I can’t wait to get a few of these to have on hand for next year’s Christmas.
Eucalyptus--Soothing, medicinal, and fresh.
· As long as the medicinal fragrance doesn’t resemble VICKS vapor rub, this might make my gotta have list. Now with that being said, on a day when I’m laid up in bed sick and can’t breathe from the congestion, this one might come in handy! We’ll see how I feel about this one come January 1st.
· This fragrance also brought on an interesting experiment at home. I had my kids and my fiancé blind folded and smell the bar of Eucalyptus, then the tin of coffee bins (coffee beans clear your pallet so to speak in between fragrances), then a jar of Mentholatum Ointment. None of them could tell which was the bar and which was the jar of Mentholatum, but my 11 year old commented he could ‘feel’ it when he was were smelling Mentholatum. It’s very crisp and refreshing. I LOVE this fragrance but I’m not sure how I feel about my home smelling like this…but again I’ll be keeping a bar on hand for those ‘sick’ days!
Flower Shop--Just like walking into a flower shop.
· YEAH!!! For sure this one tops one of my all time favorites and I’m most excited for this one. My fiancé even advised me to ‘stock-up’ on this one! I love everything about it!! I was first introduced to Flower Shop during July 2011’s BBMB’s and have been very stingy with my last few cubes, but not no more….Come January 1st, I’ll be getting several of this one! Smells just like walking into the floral fridge at the flower shop!
Mad About Mint--A blast of mint: spicy peppermint, spearmint, and wintergreen.
· Not a mint fan either, so this one is not for me! I have however, gotten good feedback and reviews from others about this fragrance.
Mysterious--Spicy, fresh, and woody, this masculine fragrance evokes strength and vitality.
· This fragrance was introduced to me as part of a mystery pack I purchased at the Scentsy Convention in August of 2011. Not on my gottta get it list! Overpowering to me and there’s several others, Hemingway, Titanium, and Embers that do it for me over this fragrance.
· I’m sticking with my original comment above, but want to add that my fiancé has now found a new favorite. My Dear Watson is his #1 and Mysterious has not taken the #2 spot for him. I’ll be honest, the more I smell it the more it grows on me and because my fiancé had added it to his Gotta Have list, we’ll be stocking up on it!
Pretty in Pink--Feminine white florals with a touch of grapefruit over rich amber and wood.
· The ‘feminine florals’ in this fragrance is way too sweet and girly girl for me! I don’t pick up on the grapefruit or amber and wood at all, but that’s just my nose speaking.
Spiced Grapefruit--Mandarin and bergamot citrus perfectly balanced with spicy coriander, nutmeg, and allspice.
· Uummm! The crisp citrus bite that blends with the spice puts this fragrance on must have list. I also have a few customers that will be excited for its return!
Spring Clean--Refreshing spring air and morning dew blended with orange blossom and crisp white florals.
· I’m guessing this one will be okay for me. I really like the cleaner spa fragrances, and by far those are my favorites, so will see how this one fairs in comparison.
· I do like this one, but don’t feel the need stock up on it. This one has too much of a true kitchen cleaner smell for me. It has for sure made my like list, but not love it list.
Taj Mahal--A soft oriental fragrance built on a base of musk and amber with subtle florals.
· This one I’m going to have to smell before I judge. It could go either way, I don’t like the ‘incense’ smells so depending on the florals of this it may make my list.
· There’s something very familiar about this fragrance…It reminds me of my grandmother! It’s a little heavy on the perfume side rather and the florals are missed by me. Over all, I like it but don’t feel to need to buy any of it.
Toasted Apple Butter--Creamy butter blended with ripe apples accented with rich spices.
· Too sweet for me and it’s a foody smell which I tend not to like as they make me hungry and have craving food all day.
Toasted Caramel Sugar--Warm milk with caramelized sugar and toffee, all swirled together with the scent of silky, sweet vanilla musk.
· I pick up on too much of the ‘toasted’ fragrance to point of it being burnt. I can definitely live without this one!
Twilight--A lovely, sophisticated scent, infused with soft romantic florals and ocean air.
· Gives me the feel of cheap bathroom soap from the gas station that lingers on your hands all day or a high school locker room shower. But on the other hand, I’ve had several customers ask for it, so I’m sure it’ll be a hit.
Vanilla Walnut—Heidi’s Pick!--A warm fragrance with roasted walnut and sweet vanilla bean.
· I am a vanilla fan so this one is right up my alley!! The warmth of the fragrance makes me want to cuddle up with a good book and a cozy blanket by the fireside.
